Ground Calcium Carbonate Plant
Capacity: customizable
Particle Diameter: 100-2500 mesh
What is the ground calcium carbonate? Calcium carbonate is a common inorganic compound found in rocks such as calcite, limestone, and marble. According to different production methods, calcium carbonate can be classified into ground calcium carbonate (GCC) and precipitated calcium carbonate (PCC). Ground calcium carbonate is produced by a physical method, in which calcium carbonate–rich minerals are mechanically crushed and ground. As an inorganic filler, it is widely used in numerous industries, including rubber, plastics, papermaking, coatings, inks, and construction, accounting for two-thirds of the calcium carbonate market.
In the field of ground calcium carbonate production equipment, AGICO has extensive experience in both manufacturing and exporting. Our production lines are capable of producing high-value GCC powders in fineness levels of 325 mesh, 400 mesh, 800 mesh, 1250 mesh, 1500 mesh, and 2000 mesh. They effectively address common production challenges such as low output, high energy consumption, high maintenance costs, low levels of automation, and significant pollution, delivering long-term, stable returns for our customers. Why Choose To Build A Ground Calcium Carbonate Plant?
Low production cost: Ground calcium carbonate is directly derived from natural ores, and the raw materials are inexpensive and easily available. The production process mainly involves crushing and grinding, with a simple equipment configuration.
Large market demand: Ground calcium carbonate is an indispensable filler and modifying agent in industries such as plastics, papermaking, coatings, and rubber, resulting in a vast market.
Resource-dependent industry: Plants located at the source of raw materials or close to end-use markets can effectively control logistics costs, creating regional monopoly advantages and generating high returns.
Diverse process routes: The technological pathways are clear, ranging from Raymond mills (coarse powders <400 mesh), to vertical mills and ring roller mills (fine powders 400–1250 mesh), and further to ultra-fine vertical mills (ultra-fine powders 1250–2500 mesh).

Ground Calcium Carbonate Manufacturing Process
Step 1:
Pre-treatment: The ore mined from the quarry is first cleaned to remove topsoil and impurities, and then coarsely crushed by a crusher. The crushed particle size should preferably be within 2 cm; for the production of ultrafine powder, it is recommended to control the size within 1 cm.
Step 2:
Grinding: The coarsely crushed material is conveyed by an elevator to a storage silo and then fed evenly and quantitatively into the grinding mill through conveying equipment. Grinding equipment generally includes vertical mills, ring roller mills, ball mills, and Raymond mills.
Step 3:
Classification: The ground material is carried by airflow into a classifier for separation. Particles that meet the required fineness pass through, while coarse particles that do not meet the standard are returned for regrinding. For powders finer than 1500 mesh, secondary classification is recommended.
Step 4:
Collection & Packaging: Qualified powder enters the dust collector along with the airflow, where solid–gas separation is achieved. The collected powder is then discharged through a discharge valve and conveyed to the finished product silo, after which it is packaged by a packing machine.

AGICO Ground Calcium Carbonate Plant Cost
The price for a heavy calcium carbonate plant is highly variable, typically ranging from around $55,000 for a small grinding mill to over $9 million for a large-scale plant. Since there is no single fixed price, the cost depends entirely on your project’s scale and specific needs.
How to Get an Accurate Price?
To get a reliable quote, you should directly contact us and provide the following details:
Your required hourly or annual capacity (e.g., 20 tons per hour);
The target finished product fineness (e.g., D97: 325 mesh);
The feed size and hardness (Mohs scale) of your raw material;
Your preference for automation level (e.g., fully automatic);
Your construction location. (e.g., Los Angeles, United States);
Whether you need a turnkey solution (installation & debugging);
Highlights Of AGICO Ground Calcium Carbonate Plant
The entire production line is equipped with a PLC-based, fully automatic control system and supports remote control. It offers a high level of automation, simple operation, and convenient maintenance, effectively reducing labor costs.
The production line operates with minimal vibration and low noise. It adopts a fully enclosed negative-pressure system along with a pulse-jet dust collection system, achieving an efficiency of 99.9% to enable a virtually dust-free workshop environment.
Our grinding equipment integrates crushing, drying, grinding, classification, and conveying into a single unit. It occupies a small footprint, only 50% of that required for a ball mill. It can be installed outdoors, with low construction costs, thereby directly reducing overall investment.
Our main equipment is equipped with advanced vibration-damping technology, enabling it to withstand high-frequency, heavy-load impact conditions. Wear parts are made of high-chromium, wear-resistant alloy materials, extending their service life to up to three times the industry standard.
